A look back

Chair for Applied Mathematics, especially computer sciences

A A look back on 27 years of teaching at the RWTH Aachen University

Research Interests

Mathematical interests focus mainly on the discrete mathematic: combinatorics, especially systematic counting for different structures, experimental design with Block-Designs, the geometry of the discrete pixel plain, algorithmic complexity and the visualisation of algorithms, optimizing with classical and analog methods - this all concludes to the computer sciences: net forming for finite element analysis, cryptology for data encryption, segmentation and advanced analysis methods for pixel, picture and Voxel-Scences with template- and discrete transformation methods (Fourier, DCT and Wavelet) as its medical application for x-rays, ultarsonic, MRI and radiology diagnostics. Furthermore the application of parallel algorithms like in a VLSI draft abundant topics had been teaching and researching.
